Committee on Diaconal Ministries
- Carries out the denominational ministry of mercy of the OPC.
- Responds to diaconal requests made by presbytery diaconal committees when needs exceed the capacity of that body.
- Works to ensure retired OPC pastors and their wives or widows are adequately cared for in retirement (Obadiah fund).
- Stands ready to lead an organized and timely response to major disasters at home and abroad.
- Responds to diaconal requests made to the OPC by other reformed churches.
- Supplies our foreign missionaries with the ability to supplement the ministry of the word with deeds of mercy.
- Works to raise up, train, support and encourage Missionary Deacons on OPC foreign fields.
- Strives to encourage, support, and connect local deacons by means of training and networking opportunities.

DIACONAL SUMMIT II
This second national gathering of the deacons of the OPC occured June 7-9, 2012, in the Chicago area at Wheaton College. The summit was well attended by men who serve on local diaconates and on presbytery diaconal committees, as well as those who work with deacons.
