From Death to Life

Devotional

Paul explained that he received spiritual life as one who was born prematurely. He said that he was born as “one out of due time.” Paul knew that special care was needed to sustain the life of one who is “born out of due time.” Heaven needed to give double care to such a one.

Nowadays people say that we don’t have to be dramatically converted the same way as Paul. Of course, everyone has his own way. There are also people who are converted like Timothy was. But the miracle we all will have to experience is that contrary to our own corrupt flesh, we have to be translated from death to life. In that way Paul and Timothy are both converted to new life. The ways are different, but the salvation truth is the same.

The Prince of Life displayed miraculously the power of His resurrection. Paul fell down as dead in the dust on the way to Damascus. But in Jesus’ power he arose to a new life. The words were fulfilled, “that though they were dead, yet shall they live.” Have you had such an experience? You may be the least of all, or the last, or the worst. But if you have not had such an experience, in a short while it may be too late.

People of God, remember that all life comes forth from Him as a result of His resurrection. From you there will not be one sign of life. But when the King appears that which is impossible becomes possible. The King destroys the power that your corrupt nature holds over you. Your old nature is broken so that you can live from this miracle of life-giving power. As with Paul, the old nature is struck down and the new man arises. Then the question is heard, just as with Paul: “Lord, what wilt thou have me to do?” That question is a mark of life.
