The OPC Assesses Hurricane Sandy
David Nakhla
The Lord has been faithful to bring us through the storm! We must wait for the first responders to complete their work of making the disaster zone safe to enter: restoring power, clearing roads, etc.
Once this preliminary work is done and we have begun to collect the reports from the churches, we anticipate an assessment that will help direct where best to use the resources and offers of help.
I personally continue to have power, so please email me or phone me with the info that you have. We hope, by day's end, to have a good sense on the extent to which the OPC has been directly affected by this storm, at least in New York and southward.
Please continue to pray for those who are suffering at this hour while giving thanks for our Lord's immense mercies upon us. They certainly are new every morning!
"The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness" (Lam 3:22–23).
