From the Editor. Distracted as we are by the omnipresence of the electronic environment, we tend to miss one of the most important developments of our time: biotechnology. In this issue of OS we will consider biotechnology from the perspective of ethics (bioethics) and the biblical doctrine of man (theological anthropology). David VanDrunen will help us, as church officers, formulate a thoughtful theological framework to engage the questions raised by biotechnology. Craig Troxel reviews some important books that will assist church officers to deal with these challenges. In addition, the editorial includes a review of a Report by the President's Council on Bioethics.

Blessings in the Lamb,
Gregory Edward Reynolds

Ordained Servant exists to help encourage, inform, and equip church officers for faithful, effective, and God glorifying ministry in the visible church of the Lord Jesus Christ. Its primary audience is ministers, elders and deacons of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church, as well as interested officers from other Presbyterian and Reformed churches. Through high quality editorials, articles, and book reviews we will endeavor to stimulate clear thinking and the consistent practice of historic Presbyterianism.
