The Orthodox Presbyterian Church Retirement Equity Fund (Pension) was established in 1958 to supplement any retirement plans or other provisions made by individual ministers (e.g.. Social Security). This "supplementary" plan has grown from its original 61 participants into an established retirement plan with over 275 current participants and over $19 million in assets. In addition, the Committee has established a Pension Supplement Fund to provide supplemental benefits for ministers and their spouses who were over 65 with twenty years of service prior to December 31, 1988. That plan currently provides benefits to 13 ministers and surviving spouses.
The Orthodox Presbyterian Church Group Voluntary Life (Life) was established to provide additional life insurance coverage for ministers, ruling elders, deacons and licentiates of OPC churches, and full-time employees of churches and denominational agencies. Underwritten by Boston Mutual Life Insurance Company, the plan offers competitive rates for coverage.
