COMMITTEE ON PENSIONS

of the ORTHODOX PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH

This is your online resource center where you may find valuable information regarding the various benefit plans available through our committee.  This site includes plan descriptions, financial information, downloadable forms and reports, and contact information.  Using the menu bar on the left, select the plan you wish to inquire further about.

The Orthodox Presbyterian Church Retirement Equity Fund (Pension) was established in 1958 to supplement any retirement plans or other provisions made by individual ministers (e.g.. Social Security).  This "supplementary" plan has grown from its original 61 participants into an established retirement plan with over 260 current participants and over $19 million in assets.  In addition, the Committee has established a Pension Supplement Fund to provide supplemental benefits for ministers and their spouses who were over 65 with twenty years of service prior to December 31, 1988.  That plan currently provides benefits to 19 ministers and surviving spouses.

The Orthodox Presbyterian Church Health & Welfare Benefits Trust (Health) was established in 1966 to provide voluntary medical coverage for ministers, ruling elders, deacons and licentiates of OPC churches, and full-time employees of churches and denominational agencies.  This coverage is both portable and competitive with other providers.  The plan is self-funded and currently has over 100 participants nationwide.

The Orthodox Presbyterian Church Group Voluntary Life (Life) was established to provide additional life insurance coverage for ministers, ruling elders, deacons and licentiates of OPC churches, and full-time employees of churches and denominational agencies.  Underwritten by Boston Mutual Life Insurance Company, the plan offers competitive rates for coverage.
