William Russell Malcor passed away unexpectedly on January 30, 1962. After a short time as a newspaper editor, he went into a plumbing partnership with his brother-in-law. When his independent church in Manhattan Beach, California, came into the OPC in 1945, he was one of the first ruling elders ordained and installed. Not only did he fulfill his local and presbytery responsibilities faithfully for the rest of his life, but he served as Sunday School superintendent for many years, as well as teaching a very large adult class. His son, Calvin, a graduate of Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia, is a retired OPC minister.
