Cary Weisiger

2022

On February 26, 1940, Orthodox Presbyterian minister Cary Weisiger was dismissed to the Presbytery of West Hanover in the Presbyterian Church in the US, after having accepted a pastoral call to Olivet Presbyterian Church in Charlottesville, Virginia. A 1937 graduate of Westminster Seminary, Weisiger had served as the second general secretary of the Committee on Foreign Missions a mere two months after his May 17th ordination. He stepped down as general secretary at the end of 1937 to become pastor of Calvary OPC, Germantown, Pennsylvania.

Weisiger would pastor multiple PCUS and UPCUSA congregations before serving as as Adjunct Professor at both San Francisco Theological Seminary and Fuller Seminary in the decade of the 1970s.
