On May 12, 1996, the Committee for the Historian and Historian Charles Dennison publicly announced the winners of the OPC History Scholarship Contest held for OPC students enrolled at Covenant College and Geneva College. The first prize of $1,000 went to Chad Bond, a 1996 graduate of Geneva College and a member at Grace OPC, Sewickley, PA. Mr. Bond's winning essay was entitled, "The Reorganization of Princeton Seminary and the Establishment of Westminster Seminary: Their Importance to the OPC." Rick Quinn, a junior at Covenant College and a member of the Garden Grove OPC won the second prize of $500 for his essay, "An Appeal to Orthodox Presbyterians: An Analytical Discursion into the Identity and Character of the OPC."
