Camp Geneva

2021

On this date in 1991, over twenty OP pastors and evangelists were gathered at Camp Geneva in Holland, Michigan for a church planters’ seminar hosted by the Committee on Home Missions and Church Extension. Dennis Johnson, associate professor of New Testament at Westminster Seminary, Escondido, California, and William Vermeulen, Director of Evangelism and Church Development, were the main speakers. Dr. Johnson led studies in the book of Acts. Mr. Vermeulen spoke on developing an effective prayer life in ministry. New General Secretary Ross Graham moderated and led the prayer times.

Among those participating were Bill Acker, Martin Ban, Randy Bergquist, Jim Heemstra, David Kiester, Joel Kershner, Frank Marsh, Gerry Malkus, Jerry Neumair, Tim Power, Stephen Pribble, Chip Stonehouse, Mark Sumpter, Bob Tanzie, Jeff Taylor, John VanMeerbeke, Bill Welzien, Don Stanton and Tim Young. Great fellowship was enjoyed by all, and the group also participated in a tour of Holland’s Tulip Time Festival.
