On this date in 1994, the congregation of Cross Keys Fellowship Presbyterian Church, Glassboro, New Jersey, was preparing to move into its own building, having purchased a former Jehovah’s Witness “kingdom hall” for $95,000. Nine years earlier in October 1985, Regional Home Missionary Ross Graham had started a Bible study in nearby Turnersville. In 1989, the congregation was received as a particular church by the Presbytery of New Jersey. The next year, Mr. Alan D. Strange was ordained and installed as pastor of CKFPC. With the purchase of the new building and a new location, the congregation changed its name to Providence OPC, Glassboro. Mr. Strange would serve as pastor until in 1999 when he accepted a call to teach at Mid-America Reformed Seminary.
