The OPC's Hurricane Helene Effort
Over two months have passed since Hurricane Helene devastated western North Carolina and many remain homeless after flooding and mudslides washed away homes and other posessions. Some residents lost their lives and some narrowly escaped with the clothes on their backs.
After several months of working alongside other ministries following the hurricane, Landis OPC in Marion, North Carolina is eager to lead an effort in McDowell County, North Carolina. Along with the Presbytery of the Southeast and OPC Disaster Response, Landis OPC is now organizing teams to help those in desperate need in western North Carolina. The goal of the effort is to combine Word and deed to provide approximately ten 16’x40’ “Chalmers Homes” for the most vulnerable in McDowell County, North Carolina. This effort is scheduled to begin in early January, 2025. Please pray and consider how you can help!
