General Information

Important: you need to read the information in these sections: Transportation and Lodging, before registering!

  1. Flight information can be found below under Transportation. For those attendees requesting transportation to or from the airport, your flight information is REQUIRED when registering, and flights outside of the normal times and prices MUST BE APPROVED IN ADVANCE! Contact person for transportation questions is Jesse Montgomery.

  2. Housing information can be found below under Lodging. For commissioners, staff, and fraternal delegates, each option includes room and board from dinner Wednesday through lunch on Tuesday. Note that regular campus housing is in 2-bedroom suites (two persons per bedroom; four men total per suite), with a shared bathroom. Single occupancy bedrooms or single occupancy suites are an additional charge. Contact person for Lodging is the registrar, Linda Jones.

  3. Schedule: The Assembly will convene at 7 p.m. Wednesday. On Thursday, Friday, Monday, and Tuesday the Assembly will run from 8:30 a.m. until 9:00 p.m., with a devotional at 11:45 a.m. each day. On Saturday the Assembly will run from 8:30 a.m. until 5:15 p.m. with a devotional at 11:45 a.m. There are no sessions on Sunday. Wednesday the Assembly will convene at 8:30 a.m. and terminate at 12:00 p.m.

  4. Family information: Due to the limited number of units available, we will NOT be able to offer campus housing to spouses and families of commissioners, or others, with the following exceptions:
    1. We will accommodate commissioners with a specific medical need for a spouse to attend with them, or with a medical need for a private room. You must contact the Registrar directly to apply for this exception.
    2. We will accommodate volunteer workers as required to assist the Assembly.

The college is providing staff for some positions normally filled by volunteers, so the COA will reduce the number of volunteers needed this year.

Transportation between Airport and Campus

If arriving by air, you should schedule your flight into Sioux Falls Regional Airport (FSD).

Shuttle vans will transport you between the airport and the General Assembly. You can anticipate a 1 hour and 15 minute shuttle ride from the airport to the Dordt campus.

Flight Times

You should arrive on Wednesday (July 7) and depart on Wednesday (July 14). If you need to arrive or depart outside the listed times, please contact Jesse Montgomery before making reservations.

* Shuttle service does not start until Wednesday at 9 AM. Earlier arrivals will have to wait.
** For scheduled departures earlier than 3 PM the traveller will have to make their own arrangements for transportation to the airport.

Please be aware that the Committee on Arrangements anticipates that the maximum reimbursement rate for airfare and/or mileage will be $425. If you anticipate your air travel expense to exceed these guidelines, or you believe you need to fly to a different airport, please email our transportation specialist, Jesse Montgomery, to discuss your options, prior to booking.

NOTE: Rental car expenses will NOT be reimbursed.

Failure to contact Mr. Montgomery may result in your not receiving a full reimbursement.

 

Lodging

All housing is planned to meet COVID-19 social distancing requirements, which means grouping no more than 2 to 3 registrants in spaces designed for 4 to 6 people under normal circumstances.

CHECK-IN /CHECKOUT DATES

Check-in date is Wednesday, July 7, from 10:00 A.M. – 4:00 P.M. Check-out date will be Wednesday, July 14. If you are staying on campus and need to arrive earlier or leave later, you must discuss your arrangements with the registrar, Linda Jones, prior to registering.

HOUSING

Campus housing will be in West Hall and Kuyper Apartments.

This year, private or semi-private bedrooms are STANDARD for our group, with a SHARED bathroom in each unit. No more than 3 individuals will share a bathroom in any unit.

Use the Additional Information box to request a desired suite mate(s), or the Registrar will assign a suite mate.

West Hall units have two sleeping areas with a bathroom between.

Kuyper Apartments have 2 or 3 private bedrooms, a common living room, kitchen, and bathroom.
