Let them praise the name of the LORD: for his name alone is excellent; his glory is above the earth and heaven (Psalm 148:13).
Bible Reading
Psalm 148:Devotional
"From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the Lord's name is to be praised. The Lord is high above all nations, and his glory above the heavens. Who is like unto the Lord our God, who dwelleth on high, who humbleth himself to behold the things that are in heaven and in the earth." All things should praise him; not only the angels and all his hosts, but also sun, moon, and stars; the heavens of heavens above, and the dragons, and all deeps below; fire and hail; snow and stormy wind fulfilling his word; mountains and hills and fruitful trees; beasts and cattle, creeping things and fowl; kings of the earth and all people; princes and all judges of the earth; young men and maidens; old men and children: all these should praise the Lord. God has created everything for his honor and glory.
But there is special praise for him from his redeemed people. "For the Lord hath chosen Zion; he hath desired it for his habitation. This is my rest forever: here will I dwell; for I have desired it. I will abundantly bless her provision: I will satisfy her poor with bread. I will also clothe her priests with salvation: and her saints shall shout aloud for joy."
"Blessed are they that dwell in thy house; they will be still praising thee." "Blessed be the name of the Lord from this time forth and for ever more."
Prayer
O Lord God, help us to praise Thy great and holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his hoiy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits. Thou, Lord, art great in Zion, and art high above all the people. Let them praise Thy great and terrible name; for it is holy. Thou art clothed with honor and majesty. O give thanks unto the Lord, for He is good; because his mercy endureth for ever. Amen.
