The Lord is my light and my salvation (Ps. 27:1).
Bible Reading
Psalm 27:Devotional
"The Lord is my light and my salvation" (Ps. 27:1).
Light and comfort on our way,
Strength and guidance day by day.
Such blessings are offered us in the Word of God.
"Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path." "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me." "As one whom his mother comforteth, so will I comfort you."
The joy of the Lord is your strength. "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee; because he trusteth in Thee." "Trust ye in The Lord for ever, for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength." (Heb. The Rock of Ages). "God is our refuge and strength."
For this God is our God for ever and ever. He will be our guide even unto death. "I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go." "I will guide thee with mine eye." "The Lord shall guide thee continually."
"The dayspring from on high hath visited us — to guide our feet into the way of peace." He leads us all the way.
Prayer
O God, be Thou the light in our darkness. Comfort us in our sorrow. Strengthen us in our weakness and guide us to our eternal home, for Jesus' sake. And unto Thee shall be all the praise. Amen.
