The Son of man goeth, even as it is written of him (Matthew 26:24).

Matthew 26:17-25:Devotional
The Son of man goeth. Where did He go? He himself tells us: I go unto the Father. But the way led through suffering and death. He became obedient unto death, even the death on the cross. Everything that was written concerning him must be fulfilled. He always clung to what was written. The Word of God was his guide and stay. In his temptation in the wilderness He overcame Satan by the Word of God. He said, It is written. When He preached He preached the Word of God. Today has this scripture been fulfilled in your ears. In his suffering and death the Scriptures were his support. "How then should the scriptures be fulfilled that thus it must be?" And after his resurrection He said to his disciples: "These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must needs be fulfilled, which are written in the law of Moses, and the prophets, and the psalms concerning me." All was fulfilled that was written concerning us. What a comfort to know that everything goes according to God's Word. That all his promises will be fulfilled, and that all things must work together for my salvation.
How firm a foundation, ye saints of the Lord
Is laid for your faith in his excellent Word!
Prayer
Our Father, we thank Thee for Thy Word. We thank Thee that Thy Word is truth, and that it abides for ever. May Thy Word be a continual light upon our path. Help us to believe Thy precious promises. As we look into the future may we not doubt or fear, but believe and trust, knowing that all Thou hast spoken shall surely come to pass; and everything that comes to pass will be for the good of Thy children. So we thank Thee, our Father, for Thy loving care over us. Continue to bless us for Jesus' sake. Amen.
Scripture in Devotional: John 14:17; Luke 4:21; Matt. 26:54; Luke 24:4.
