Trust ye in the Lord forever: for in the Lord JEHOVAH is everlasting strength (Isaiah 26:4).
Bible Reading
Isaiah 25:Devotional
We are living in troublous times, dangerous times, times that afford no peace and rest for the souls of men. There are political upheaveals, economic uncertainty and spiritual perils by reason of false doctrines and the wiles of the devil, "who, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour." Peace and rest and perfect security is to be found only in God. But peace with God we can have only when we are reconciled unto him through our Lord Jesus Christ, "who was delivered for our offenses, and was raised again for our justification." "Being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ." That is the peace of God which passeth all understanding. All who believe in Jesus Christ have this peace, and are kept in this peace. "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on thee, because he trusteth in thee." Therefore, in the storms and turmoils of life, trust in the Lord; and not only then, but for ever; "for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength." He is the Rock of Ages, that can never be moved. All his enemies shall be made his footstool. And He shall reign for ever and ever. And his people shall rejoice and praise his name for ever.
Our hope is on Jehovah stayed,
In Him our hearts are joyful made;
Our help and shield is He.
Prayer
O Lord, Thou art our God; we will exalt Thee. We will praise Thy name; for Thou hast done wonderful things; Thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth. Thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat. Help us to put our whole trust in Thee; and help us to rejoice in Thy salvation. May the joy of the Lord be our strength. Amen.
Scripture in Devotional: 1 Pet. 5:8; Rom. 4:25; 5:1; Phil.4:7; Isa. 26:3, 4; Ps. 110:1.
