Thou art all fair, my love; there is no spot in thee. (Song of Solomon 4:7).

Revelation 19:6-16:Devotional
The bridegroom is talking to his bride. Is that really so? What does the prophet Isaiah tell us? "We are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags." And the psalmist says, "They are all together become filthy (Hebrew: stinking): there is none that doeth good, no, not one." There is no fairness, purity nor holiness in natural man. But God purifies and cleanses us from all sin. He says, "From all your filthiness .... will I cleanse you." For this purpose Christ shed his precious blood on the cross. "The blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin." Christ loved his Church, and gave himself for it, "that He might sanctify and cleanse it .... that he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish;" "Unblameable and unreprovable in his sight." Joshua, the high priest, was clothed with filthy garments; but the command was given, "Take away the filthy garments from him." And he was clothed with change of raiment. Thus God takes away the garment of our self-righteousness and clothes us with the garment of salvation and covers us with the robe of his righteousness. To the bride of the Lamb was "granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white; for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints." Thus she is all fair and without spot, a glorious Church.
Prayer
O God, help us to realize how sinful we are and may we sincerely confess our sins before Thee. Wash us, and we shall be whiter than snow. We ask this in Jesus' name and for his sake. Amen.
