Hurricane Ian has proven to be one of the deadliest hurricanes in Florida history, and it is with thanksgiving that we report that the Lord preserved the OPC through this devastating storm.
On September 29th, the day after the storm, Eric Hausler, pastor of Christ the King OPC in Naples, Florida, reported on the widespread devastation, and his thankfulness that both the current church building and their new building, which they hope to move into soon, were spared. He also shared that the homes of two OPC families, although flooded by the storm surge, ought to be covered by insurance, and any immediate needs met by the local church.
Mark Cerasale, deacon at Reformation OPC in Oviedo, Florida, and the Regional Disaster Response Coordinator for the Presbytery of the South, reported that there was no other known impact on the OPC as a result of Hurricane Ian. Praise the Lord! Mark further reported that Reformation OPC is aware of and seeking to minister to a local PCA minister whose home was flooded and is without flood insurance. Reformation desires to come alongside this smaller PCA congregation in ministering to this family. Contributions toward this effort are welcomed! They can be sent to the diaconate of Reformation OPC, designated for Ian Relief, and mailed to:

On September 17th, 11 days prior to Ian, Hurricane Fiona lashed Puerto Rico as a Category 1 storm, knocking out power across the island. We thank the Lord that he preserved his saints through this event and, outside of the emotional strain of enduring such a hurricane and the significant inconvenience of prolonged power outages, all seems to be well.
We are thrilled to report that the final touches are being applied to the interior reconstruction of Neon Reformed OPC, just two months after being deluged with more than six feet of muddy water! The prompt clean-up and rebuilding were made possible due to the hundreds of volunteers who faithfully cared for this small, home mission work. We are overwhelmed and thankful for the outpouring of love through generous donations received toward the Kentucky Flood fund. Donations have surpassed our goal, and we are happy to report that no additional funds are needed. The total contributions have far exceeded the cost to rebuild Neon Reformed OPC. Praise the Lord! The remaining funds will go toward mercy ministry in the community, as we are able.
