1965 Thank Offering

On this date in 1965, the congregations of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church were encouraged to give to the 17th Annual Thank Offering. The goal set for the support of the work of Home and Foreign Missions and Christian Education was for each church to give $15 for each of its communicant members. In the November issue of the Orthodox Presbyterian Messenger promoting the Thank Offering, OPC home and foreign missionaries were pictured. Home missionaries included Carl and Susan Ahlfeldt (Oklahoma City, OK), Wilson and Jane Albright (Hacienda Heights, CA), Bob and Betty Atwell (Miami, FL), Glenn and Carmen Black (Eugene, OR), Glenn and Gladys Coie (Hialeah, FL), Bob and Ruth Graham (Chula Vista, CA), George and Grace Haney (Bangor, ME), William and Jacqueline Moreau (Hamden, CT), John Perez (Vineland, NJ), Jack and Betty Peterson (Stratford, NJ), Henry and Phyllis Phillips (Gresham, WI), Dwight and Kathleen Poundstone (La Mirada, CA), Wendell and Trudi Rockey (Hamilton, MA), Boyce and Gladys Spooner (Hatboro, PA), Chip and Connie Stonehouse (Lewiston, ME), Stan and Maureen Sutton (Marietta, OH), Don and Jeanette Taws (Thornton, CO), Larry and Jane Vail (Vienna, VA), and John and Janette Verhage (Grand Junction, CO).
