December 11 Today in OPC History

On December 11, 1981, the Rev. George R. Cottenden was installed as pastor of Trinity OPC, Hatboro, Pennsylvania. As pastor of Trinity Church for the next twenty-seven years, Mr. Cottenden and the Trinity Church congregation were used by the Lord in the training and development of future gospel ministers. Among future pastors who interned under Mr. Cottenden at Trinity Church were Phillip Ryken, Paul Browne, Ben Snodgrass, Ben Westerveld, Larry Westerveld, Roth Reason, Mark Sallade and Tim Beauchamp. In retirement, Mr. Cottenden continues to remain active in helping young men aspiring to the gospel ministry as he serves on the Board of Trustees of Westminster Theological Seminary and as the chairman of the Candidates and Credentials Committee of the Presbytery of Philadelphia.
