Calvinism Conference at Long Beach

On March 15, 1969, First OPC, Long Beach hosted Youth Day as the kick-off to the second annual Conference on Calvinism for churches in the southern California area. The main speakers were Dr. Joel Nederhood, radio minister of the Christian Reformed Back-to-God Hour, and Professor Norman Shepherd of Westminster Seminary.

The Youth Day began with a luncheon, followed by an afternoon panel discussion, and concluded with a dinner at which the Rev. Jack White, a Reformed Presbyterian pastor associated with Geneva College, spoke.

Other participants were the Rev. Richard Lewis of Berkeley, the Rev. Thomas Champness of Modesto, and the Rev. Louis Dykstra of the Christian Reformed Church in Chino.
