On Wednesday, June 7, 1961, OPC minister Paul Woolley kicked off the twenty-fifth anniversary celebration of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church with a lecture on “Machen in the Church” before a crowded auditorium in Glenside, PA. Two days later, the Rev. Dr. Ned B. Stonehouse presided at the silver anniversary banquet and rally in Wilmington, Delaware, at Emmanuel OPC. Reminiscences of the OPC’s beginning were delivered by Murray F. Thompson, Esq. (OP legal struggles), the Rev. John Clelland (the OP in Wilmington), and the Rev. Henry Coray (the lighter side). The Rev. Carl Ahlfeldt gave the keynote address. A choir of singers from local OP congregations in the Philadelphia area under the direction of Charlotte Kuschke, with Howard Porter at the organ, sang “Prepare Ye the Way of the Lord” and “Gloria.”
