the Rev. Henry Huenemann
He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shall thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler (Psalm 91:4).

Psalm 91:Devotional
We are living in very serious times. Humanly speaking, it is becoming very dangerous to live. There are dangers of fire, water, earthquakes, and tornadoes. There are thousands of people killed every year in accidents on the highways, airways, seaways, and on the farms. We are heirs to incurable diseases of various kinds. Furthermore, there are spiritual dangers. The devil goes about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Or he fashions himself into an angel of light, and comes with a false gospel. The world with its allurements seeks to entice us. Our flesh is so weak. We cannot stand for a moment against these deadly enemies.
Is there no escape from these dangers? no refuge? no place of safety? Thanks be to God, there is. It is under the wings of almighty God. There, and there only, we are safe. "He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust." "A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee." "In the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavillion." "How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of his wings." Under his wings we can safely abide.
