September 13 Today in OPC History

Pickerington, Ohio

 

On Friday, September 13, 2002, Providence Presbyterian Church, Pickerington, Ohio, was organized as a new congregation of the Presbytery of Ohio. The Rev. Luis Orteza was installed as pastor. Tom Steele and Jason Foster, who was also ordained at the service, were installed as ruling elders. The Rev. Richard Gerber preached the sermon, the Rev. William Kessler exhorted the congregation, and the Rev. Stephen Igo exhorted Mr. Steele and Mr. Foster, and the Rev. Lawrence Semel exhorted Mr. Orteza.
