On this day Orthodox Presbyterian Pastor John Johnson was born in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. After receiving a B.A. from Bob Jones University in 1975, John married Diana McNichols in 1977. He then attended Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, Mississippi, and graduated with a M.Div. in 1981. He was ordained the same year in the Presbyterian Church in America and installed as Assistant Pastor of the Fifth Street PCA in Tyler, Texas. Three years later, he accepted a call to the Tyler OPC, and transferred his membership into the Presbytery of the Dakotas. In one of the longest continuous pastorates in the history of the OPC, John has served faithfully for the past thirty-five years at Tyler OPC. He and Diana have also been blessed with five children, Brian, Cara, John, Grace, and Hannah.
