January 6 Today in OPC History

On this date in 1995, Andy, Paula and Kate Elam were introduced to the readers of New Horizons through a picture and write-up on the prayer calendar. The caption read, "The members of Emmanuel OPC in Kent, Wash., enjoy having Andy, Paula and Kate Elam in their midst, while Andy is serving a yearlong internship. Andy requests prayer that his pastoral skills will continue to improve and that the Lord would open up a door of ministry for him this summer." The next year Andy would be called to serve as pastor of Grace OPC, Battle Mountain, Nevada. In 1998, he returned to Emmanuel Church as Associate Pastor. In 2009, he was called as the organizing pastor of Redeeming Grace OPC, Port Angeles, Washington, where he continues to serve to this day.
