March 27 Today in OPC History

On March 27, 1924, Leatrice Verlyn Mettler was born near Menno, South Dakota to Albert and Ida Mettler, members of the Kassel Reformed Church. At the age of 19 in 1943 she married her husband of 72 years, Edwin Aman, and became a member of Bethlehem Reformed Church in Freeman. In addition to raising six children with Edwin, Leatrice gave herself in service to Bethlehem Church. She taught Sunday school and sang in the choir and donated baked goods and quilts for church functions. In her 49th year as a member of Bethlehem Church, the congregation with Pastor Benjamin Hopp joined the Orthodox Presbyterian Church in 2002. On November 17, 2018, Leatrice went to be with the Lord in glory.
