October 1 Today in OPC History

On October 1, 1956, the Rev. James W. Price, pastor of Emmanuel OPC in Morristown, New Jersey, died and was called to his eternal home. Pastor Price served fourteen years on the Committee on Foreign Missions and promoted the work locally and at the presbytery level. Consequently, Mrs. Elizabeth Price requested friends to send contributions for foreign missions instead of flowers at the time of the funeral. $806.50 was received and sent to the Committee as a memorial to Mr. Price. With the concurrence of Mrs. Price, the Committee use this money for the production of Christian literature in the OPC mission fields of Japan, Korea, Eritrea and Taiwan.
