On Friday, February 25, 2000, the Rev. Timothy G. Walker was received by the Presbytery of Philadelphia and installed as the organizing pastor of Faith OPC, Broomall, Pennsylvania. The Rev. Douglas C. Winward, Jr., moderator of the Presbytery of Philadelphia, led the service. The Rev. Dr. A. Craig Troxel, pastor of Calvary OPC, Glenside, preached the installation sermon from Judges 6:33-7:25, "Strength from Weakness." The Rev. Benjamin J. Snodgrass, pastor of Grace Fellowship OPC, Germantown, delivered the charges to the minister and to the members of Faith Church.
Pastor Walker and the core group that formed Faith Church had transitioned from the Protestant Episcopal Church. Coming to conviction about the Reformed Faith, they spent four years studying the Westminster Standards and another year studying the Canons of Dordt before seeking out membership in the OPC. Also helping with the group as the regular piano accompanist for Faith Church was Westminster Seminary student and future OPC pastor Dan Clifford.
