Following the morning worship on May 12, 1968, the congregation of Emmanuel Orthodox Presbyterian Church of Morristown, New Jersey, travelled to their new lot on Whippany Road in Hanover Township for a ground breaking ceremony. Pastor Calvin A. Busch led the singing of "All Hail the Power of Jesus' Name." He then presented a brief history of the church's organization in 1927, when the Rev. Paul Woolley served as the first moderator of the church. In 1956 Emmanuel Church with Pastor James W. Price entered the OPC. Then Pastor Busch read a dedication of the new property to the late Dr. Lawrence B. Gilmore, first pastor of the church, who served from 1928 to 1940. The Rev. Stanford Sutton, pastor of Murdock Memorial OPC in Bancroft, South Dakota, and a former member of Emmanuel OPC, gave a closing prayer.
