October 5 Today in OPC History

On October 5, 1978, the NAPARC Diaconal Conference was entering its final day at Covenant College, Lookout Mountain, Tennessee. OPC minister, the Rev. Dr. Leonard Coppes, was re-elected as president of the conference. A study of Diaconal Ministries by a committee of the PCA General Assembly was discussed, and a formal proposal for future cooperation among NAPARC churches by the CRWRC was submitted for the consideration of the several participating denominations.
