May 16 Today in OPC History

On May 16, 1980, Edward Haug, Statistician of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church, reported on the "The OPC and the 1970s" to the 47th (1980) General Assembly. According to Mr. Haug, total membership during the decade increased from 14,305 to 16,525. In 1970 there were 180 ministers and 115 churches. In 1980 there were 256 ministers and 146 churches. Regarding giving to the church, the average total contributions per communicant member rose from $240 to $517.
