August 18 Today in OPC History

Happy birthday to OPC pastor Matthew Cotta! Born and raised in Hanford, California, Matthew did not begin walking with Christ until his early 20s. After he came to faith, he attended Covenant College in Lookout Mountain, Georgia. There he met his future wife, Lois. Married for twenty-three years, Matthew and Lois have been blessed with four children, Rachel, Lilia, Luke, and Katherine. Matthew then attended Westminster Seminary California and after his graduation was ordained and installed in 2003 as pastor of Grace OPC in Hanover Park, Illinois. In 2017, he accepted a call to serve as church planter of Pasadena OPC in Pasadena, California. Matthew is a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and enjoys reading, cooking, and fishing.
