March 10 Today in OPC History

On the Lord's Day of March 10, 2013, the Rev. John P. Galbraith, who was born one hundred years earlier on March 10, 1913, pronounced the benediction at the close of the morning worship at Calvary OPC in Glenside, Pennsylvania. The previous day a celebration had been held for Mr. Galbraith at Calvary Church with over one hundred people attending, including his two daughters, Priscilla Toth and Suzanne deBoer, and former OPC missionary Betty Andrews. In addressing those gathered, Mr. Galbraith praised God for his Christian upbringing by his parents, recited Psalm 23 and John 3:16, and led the singing of the doxology. Said Mr. Galbraith, "To die is better than to live. The gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. I begin my second century tomorrow. We'll see how far that goes." On June 30, 2016, John P. Galbraith went to be with the Lord in Glory.
