On the Lord's Day of December 6, 1959, Maitland OPC in Maitland, Florida, held their first worship service in their new building. Before 200 members and friends of the congregation, Maitland pastor Arthur Froehlich welcomed to the pulpit guest preacher Meredith Kline, who proclaimed God's Word from Zechariah 9, "Thy King Cometh!" The worship service was the beginning of a week of Dedication services. On Monday evening, ministers Lawrence Wagner and Eldon Ford spoke. On Tuesday evening, Glenn Coie, pastor of Sharon OPC in Hileah, preached. On Wednesday night, Pierre Dubose was the speaker and on Thursday evening S. H. Turbeville and John Wengatz. On Friday night, Thompson Casey brought the message. The week concluded on the Lord's Day of December 13 with the preaching of the Word and the administration of the Lord's Supper at the morning worship service and a final Dedication and Consecration service at 4 PM.
A little over four years later, Pastor Froehlich and the congregation at Maitland withdrew from the OPC and entered the Bible Presbyterian Synod.
