October 27 Today in OPC History

On this day in 1997, Ben DeBoer and Dick Vincent were designated "elders emeriti" by Calvary Community OPC in Harmony, New Jersey in recognition of their long and distinguished service on the session for over thirty years each. A fellowship luncheon after the morning worship service was held to honor Mr. DeBoer and Mr. Vincent with members and friends attending.

From Calvary Church's reception into the OPC in 1966, both men had served on the session with Pastors Lewis Grotenhuis, George Scipione, Donald Taws and Michael Bobick. They also served on the Board of Deacons and the Board of Trustees, and both men faithfully taught Sunday school for many years.

Mr. DeBoer entered into the presence of the Lord in glory on January 6, 1998 and Mr. Vincent on December 29, 2016.
