While stationed at Lowry Air Force Base in Denver, Neil met Susan Male, who played the organ at Park Hill OPC. Susan is the youngest of seven children of the late OPC pastor Benson and Dee Male. Neil and Susan married on this date in 1971.

After graduating from Gordon College in 1972, he earned his master of divinity from Westminster Theological Seminary in 1975. Ordained by the Presbytery of Philadelphia on October 16, 1975, Neil served as pastor of Grace OPC in Middletown, Delaware until 1981. For the next seventeen years he served as pastor of Covenant OPC in Abilene, Texas, succeeding his brother-in-law Jonathan Male. From 1998 through 2005, Neil was pastor of Calvary OPC in Bridgeton, New Jersey, then ministered at the OPC in Cherry Hill, New Jersey from 2006 to 2014. From 2014 until his retirement in 2019 he pastored at Immanuel OPC in West Collingswood, New Jersey.

For many years Neil taught at the French Creek Bible Conference and trained sixteen summer and yearlong pastoral interns. He also taught in Christian school and served as stated clerk of the Presbytery of the Southwest. Susan has played the organ and piano at every church they served as well as taught in Sunday school, Bible school, and Kid’s Club.

Neil died and went to be with the Lord in glory on June 18, 2020. Susan is a member of Providence OPC in Bryan, Texas, where she serves the congregation playing the piano.
