June 1 Today in OPC History

On June 1, 1991, a new brochure introducing the Orthodox Presbyterian Church, "Get to Know Us Better," was unveiled by the Committee on Home Missions and Church Extension at the Fifty-eighth General Assembly meeting at Geneva College in Beaver Falls, PA. CHMCE General Secretary Ross Graham told the commissioners that the three-fold purpose of "Get to Know us Better" was 1) to better acquaint our own members in the OPC; 2) to give visitors to our services an overview of the OPC's ministry and distinctives; and 3) to encourage people to appreciate the OPC and her important role today.

Over 500,000 copies of "Get to Know us Better" would be distributed in the OPC in the years that followed. In 2006, the brochure was also translated into Spanish.
