On February 2, 1938, Grace Church in Middletown, Delaware joined the Presbyterian Church of American (later renamed the Orthodox Presbyterian Church). Having been forced out of the Forest Presbyterian Church (PCUSA) in June 1936, the Rev. Robert Graham led a faithful flock of forty-two to the Everett Theater to worship.
By God’s grace and after much sacrifice, a property was acquired and a new building erected. Pastor Graham led the design of the building, which included having a barrel ceiling installed to help the singing. He also contributed in hand carving “In Remembrace of Me” in the communion table.
Following Rev. Graham, the congregation has been faithfully served by the Rev. LeRoy Oliver, Rev. William Groodrow, Rev. F. Clarke Evans, Rev. Neil Lodge, and from 1982 to the present by the Rev. Robert Harting.
