On April 7, 2000, Providence Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Kingwood, Texas, held its first worship service. Nearly four months later on July 28, Adam York was licensed by the Presbytery of the Southwest. Ten months later on May 3, 2002, Mr. York was ordained and installed as an evangelist, laboring as the church planter of Providence OPC. The group consisted of 14 communicant members and six non-communicant members. Mr. York would serve faithfully as pastor of Providence Church until 2019. Aaron Mize currently serves as pastor of the 88 member congregation.
