June 28 Today in OPC History

On this date in 2003, the 70th General Assembly meeting on the campus Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa, passed two recommendations that were brought forth by the Committee on Chaplains. The first passed recommendation was to encourage congregations located in areas near military installations or where significant numbers of military personnel live to reach out to active duty personnel and their dependents. The second passed recommendation was to change the name of this Committee to “The Committee on Chaplains and Military Personnel.”
