February 21 Today in OPC History

On this day in 2003, Arie van Eyk was ordained and installed as an evangelist of the Presbytery of the Southeast to serve as the organizing pastor of Providence Presbyterian Church in Greensboro, North Carolina. Born in Deer Run, Alberta, Canada, Arie graduated from the University of Western Ontario (Huron College) before attending Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary where he earned a Masters of Divinity. A little over a year later on April 28, 2004, Providence OPC became an established congregation and Arie was installed as pastor where he continues to serve to this day.
