In the small Iowa town of Grundy Center, Cromwell Roskamp was born this day in 1920. Mr. Roskamp married Esther Jensen in 1946, and they were blessed with two children, Peter and Rosanne. After graduating from Westminster Seminary, Mr. Roskamp was ordained and installed as pastor of the congregations of Faith and New Hope OPC in Harrisville, Pennsylvania in 1955. He would go on to serve OPC pastorates in Maryland, Virginia and Georgia before settling at Pilgrim OPC in Raleigh, North Carolina. He faithfully served as Pilgrim Church's pastor for twenty-five years before his retirement in 1995. During his last few years at Pilgrim Church, Mr. Roskamp suffered from Parkinson's disease. He was unwilling to leave his charge until the Lord provided for the ongoing pastoral care of the flock with the call of Douglas Withington. On October 3, 2004, Cromwell Roskamp was called home to glory.
