Southern California Women's Retreat

2019

On this date in 2004, the twenty-second annual Woman's Retreat of the Presbytery of Southern California opened at Idyllwild, California. The theme of the conference was "Women of Imperishable Beauty" as the main speaker, Eileen Scipione, delivered four talks from 1 Peter 3:1–7. She encouraged the ladies that a gentle and quiet spirit comes from knowing who we are in Christ as believers, practicing forgiveness in our lives, and dealing with guilt biblically. This is the basis of the inner beauty that is imperishable.

Over one hundred women were in attendance from sixteen different OPC churches. There were also participants from four other Reformed denominations. Camping at an elevation of 5,400 feet, the ladies were also treated to a Spring snowfall that lasted most of the first day.
