On this date in 1994, the Rev. DeLacy Andrews was received into the Presbytery of the South and installed as the organizing pastor of Providence OP Chapel in Meadowview, Virginia. A graduate of East Texas Baptist College and Reformed Theological Seminary, Jackson, Mississippi, Lacy was ordained in 1979 in the Presbyterian Church in the United States. He pastored churches in Lenoir City, Tennessee and Gate City, Virginia prior to coming into the OPC. In 2000, Lacy became the Regional Home Missionary of the Presbytery of the Southeast. He has been involved in helping to start numerous church plants in the states of North Carolina, Georgia and Virginia.
Lacy married Debbie Allen in 1975 and they have two children, Joshua and Christine, as well as several grandchildren. He enjoys hunting and fishing with friends and family. He also has published the historical fiction novels The Pilgrimage: The Shepherd of Kedar: Book 1 and Ascending Mount Zion: The Shepherd of Kedar: Book 2 .
